This laborious task of Drypoint took us 3 hours (well we were learning). You get your bit of metal, scratch in your picture; File down the edges of your plate; pre-soak your paper; Ink your plate, and then wipe the ink off; Prepare your press and eventually print.
Scratching in your picture is a bit daunting. For one, you have to think of something, then you hope that it's good enough to bother going through the rest of the stages and then the scratching of the metal makes your teeth go funny (think fork on plate...yow!).
But it was worth it to see my little picture come out and to get to spin the printing wheel.
